The ITS Department at Midlands State University is proud to announce the successful launch of the CIES Sports Management Portal. As MSU ascends to become a global hub for sports excellence, our department has played a critical role in building the digital foundation for this journey.
We have officially deployed the cies.msu.ac.zw portal—a bespoke solution designed to support the prestigious FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management.
🏆 More Than Just a Website: A Digital Hub This isn't just an application portal; it is a gateway for Zimbabwe’s elite sports administrators to connect with a global network. By becoming only the 5th university in Africa and the 21st worldwide to host this program, MSU required a platform that met international standards for security, usability, and data integrity.
Key Technical Achievements:
Global Connectivity: Integrating MSU’s infrastructure with the CIES network standards.
User-Centric Design: Creating a seamless application journey for national sports federations.
Scalability: Built to handle high-traffic enrolment cycles while maintaining 99.9% uptime.
💡 Bridging Theory and Technology by marrying IT innovation with sports management, we are proving that our department is an incubator for real-world impact. This project reinforces the IT Department’s commitment to Education 5.0, moving beyond theoretical computing to deliver tangible, high-stakes solutions that put MSU on the world map.
